Theron the Bold

Marcus

Human Paladin Soldier

Religion: The Sunforge Covenant (order of paladins devoted to justice and protection)

Favorite foods: venison, strong ale, anything his grandmother used to make

Theron is a wall of a man—broad-shouldered, scarred, with the calloused hands of someone who’s held a sword more than a pen. He was a decorated captain in the Sunforge Order’s military branch, chosen for a special mission that went catastrophically wrong. Seventeen civilians died. He was exonerated, but that didn’t change anything. So he walked away from the order and into the merchant life, hoping to find redemption in simpler work.

The shipwreck felt like a sign. Finally, something felt important again.

Despite his warrior’s bearing, Theron has a dry sense of humor and reads voraciously. He carries a journal where he sketches the people he meets and writes observations about them. He’s writing about Kalya quite a lot lately.

His oath as a paladin still binds him, even in exile. He won’t compromise on protection of the innocent, which has already put him at odds with Mira’s pragmatism. It’s a tension the party will need to navigate.

Relationships

  • Kalya Stormcaller

She reminds him that not everything needs to be a duty. Also terrifies him. Probably in love with her, but he's too honorable to admit it.

  • Mira Shadowstep

They've already had three arguments about methods. He respects her skills but worries she's willing to cross lines he won't.

  • The Sunforge Order

Left them under circumstances he refuses to discuss. Carrying a lot of guilt about that.
