Roric Ironfoot
Jordan
Religion: The Eternal Forge (Dwarven deity of craft and protection)
Favorite foods: dark ale, roasted mushrooms, spiced venison, honey mead
Roric was once a devoted cleric, trained in the stone temples deep beneath the Deepforge Mountains. But doubt crept in like rust, and when he failed to save a child from a cave-in during a religious ceremony, his faith shattered. He left the priesthood in disgrace, wandering the surface world as a self-imposed exile.
The shipwreck was, perhaps, divine punishment—or divine intervention. Either way, something changed in Roric during that storm. Clinging to wreckage, half-drowned, he felt something awakening in him again. Not the old faith, but something newer, rawer: a purpose to protect the innocent, to fight the darkness, to be the shield his people once were.
Now he walks the line between Paladin and Warrior, his oath renewed not to any temple but to his companions and the people they save. His stone-gray eyes carry the weight of old failures and new determination. He’s searching for redemption, one curse-victim at a time.
Relationships
- Kalya Stormcaller
She reminds him of his sister who died in the mines. He feels a protective duty toward her, though she needs no protection.
- Theron the Bold
A human he never thought he'd trust. But Theron has saved his life twice, and that's worth more than ancient grudges between their peoples.
- Mira Shadowstep
He suspects there's darkness in her past, perhaps a darkness he understands. They've never spoken of it, but there's respect there.
- Forge Master Hurn
His distant cousin. Hurn's teachings showed him that there's a path to redemption even for those who fell from faith.
