Lyra Nightwhisper
Sam
Religion: The Shadowless (a patron entity, not quite a god)
Favorite foods: black licorice, rare meats, night-blooming flowers, moonflower wine
Lyra was born in the slave-pits of the Crimson Tide, one of countless tiefling children worth only what they could steal or kill. She rose through their ranks with ruthlessness and style, becoming one of their most valuable assassins by her twentieth year.
But then she made a mistake—she felt something. Empathy for a target. Instead of killing a child she was sent to eliminate, she tried to save them. The Crimson Tide doesn’t forgive. They offered her a choice: return to the fold or die. In desperation, she called out to something in the darkness, something that answered.
Now Lyra carries a pact written in shadow-script on her ribs. Her mysterious patron whispers to her, offering power in exchange for… something. The price hasn’t been fully named yet, and that terrifies her more than the Tide ever did.
She survived the shipwreck because the curse couldn’t touch her—something about her pact kept her in the safe harbor of shadow. Now she’s with the party because her patron demands it, or because she genuinely wants redemption, or maybe both. Even she isn’t sure anymore.

They're kindred spirits in recklessness, though Lyra's chaos comes from a very different place. Kalya doesn't know the extent of Lyra's pact.
- Roric Ironfoot
The dwarf doesn't trust her, and for good reason. But she's starting to care what he thinks, which worries her immensely.
- Sable Vermillion
Her former employer and the one who taught her the art of the kill. Lyra left that life, but her patron demands payment in blood. Is Sable hunting her, or protecting her?
